Names of God

The Bible is full to bursting with amazing names for God; names that shed new light on the mysterious and wonderful nature of the Divine.  Jeremiah 18:5 calls God a Potter, Psalm 22:9 likens God to a Midwife; Hosea 13:8 names God as a Bear; and The Gospel of John 6:35 names God as Bread (of Life).  How can the little used names for God inspire our praying and increase our understanding of the Living God?  Join me as we pray beyond the names “Lord” and “Father” and follow the Bible into the abundance of ways to imagine and speak to God.  Together we will find little used metaphors for God and share our transformations as we pray using some of those names.  Our time together will be both meditative and lively!
